Macron Calls PM Modi a 'Dear Friend' in Hindi Farewell Message After France Visit

French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday shared a farewell video in Hindi for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing him as a "dear friend" and saying, "France loves you." The message came at the conclusion of Modi's official visit to France. In the video, Macron greeted the Indian Prime Minister in Hindi, saying, "Dear friend Narendra, I am delighted to welcome you to Nice, Évian and Paris. May the friendship between France and India live forever." After delivering the message in Hindi, Macron smiled and remarked, "I hope that was correct." He thanked Prime Minister Modi for his visit, described it as an excellent one, and expressed hope that they would meet again in February. Prime Minister Modi arrived in the Mediterranean city of Nice on June 13, where he joined President Macron in inaugurating the 'Bharat Innovates' programme. The two leaders also held a bilateral meeting during the visit. Following his engagements in France, Modi travelled to Slovakia from June 14 to June 16. The visit marked the first-ever official trip to Slovakia by an Indian Prime Minister. Earlier this week, Prime Minister Modi also attended the G7 Summit held in the French town of Évian-les-Bains on Tuesday and Wednesday. India participated in the summit as a guest country. At the conclusion of his visit, Prime Minister Modi thanked President Macron, the French government, and the people of France for their warm hospitality. He said he was confident that the friendship between India and France would continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.
