Following a fatal firing incident late Sunday night that resulted in the deaths of two individuals, Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav visited Moga on Monday morning to review the ongoing investigation and meet with the grieving family members of the victims. Assessing the situation on the ground, the DGP assured that the case is being investigated from all angles and emphasized that none of those involved in the crime will be spared. According to preliminary reports, a group of young men were sitting outside a shop in Moga when assailants arriving in a Scorpio vehicle opened indiscriminate fire on them. The sudden and unprovoked shooting triggered widespread chaos in the area. Two individuals—identified as Gagan Jindal (30) and Sahil Jindal (40)—succumbed to bullet injuries, while others sustained injuries from gunshots and pellets during the attack. Police teams swiftly arrived at the scene following the incident to initiate a thorough probe. Moga Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sartaj Singh Chahal stated that the victims' family members have named certain individuals as potential suspects. Law enforcement officials are actively recording statements from witnesses and inspecting footage from nearby CCTV cameras. Additionally, forensic experts have been deployed to gather critical physical evidence from the site. While initial assessments suggest that old enmity might be the underlying motive behind the lethal attack, police officials noted that the exact cause will only be confirmed once the detailed investigation concludes. DGP Gaurav Yadav reiterated that the Punjab Police are handling the case with utmost gravity, promising strict legal action once the suspects are formally identified. The incident has left the local community in shock, with residents closely following the police proceedings as authorities work to uncover the full details of the crime.
