‘Hamare Ram’ Theatre Play Opens in Mohali, 41 Free Shows Planned Across Punjab

The staging of the theatre production ‘Hamare Ram’ has begun in Mohali, with noted actor Ashutosh Rana playing a key role in the production. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said the play will be staged at 41 shows across 12 cities in the state during August and September. The cities include Mohali, Bathinda, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Patiala, Ludhiana, Sangrur and Khanna. The shows will be open to the public free of cost. Mann said the initiative aims to use theatre as an effective medium to spread the message of truth, dharma, compassion and unity, while also strengthening the values associated with Sanatan Dharma. The Chief Minister said the state government is committed to taking the eternal message of Sanatan Dharma to the people through the historic epic Ramayana. He added that ‘Hamare Ram’ has received an encouraging response at the national and international levels, particularly among the younger generation. According to Mann, the production presents the Ramayana through unique and lesser-explored perspectives, offering audiences a new and informative experience. He said the programme would not only highlight religious and cultural values but also inspire young people through the powerful mediums of theatre and art. Mann also recalled that the state government had earlier organised the ‘Ek Shaam Shiv Ke Naam’ programme across all districts, which received an enthusiastic response from the public. Meanwhile, the Punjab government is also planning programmes dedicated to the 650th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas. Mann said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to respecting the spiritual heritage of all communities.
