Ladowal Toll Plaza Hikes Charges by ₹5, New Rates Effective Tonight

Travel on national highways in Punjab is set to become more expensive as toll rates have been increased at the busy Ladowal Toll Plaza. The revised charges will come into effect from midnight tonight. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a notification announcing the revised toll rates for the Ladowal Toll Plaza, one of the busiest and most expensive toll points in the state. According to the notification, toll charges have been increased by ₹5. A similar revision had also been implemented last year from April 1. In addition, from April 1, cash transactions at the toll plaza will be completely discontinued. Vehicles will only be allowed to pass through using FASTag or UPI payment methods. As per the new rates, cars, jeeps, and vans will now have to pay ₹225 for a single journey, up from ₹220 earlier. For a return trip, the charge has been increased from ₹335 to ₹340. The annual pass for long-distance commercial vehicles and frequent commuters has also become costlier. The previous rate of ₹3,000 has been revised to ₹3,075. This pass covers a total of 200 trips.
