Pre-Monsoon Preparations: DC Jalandhar Directs Swift Action on Dhogri Road

Jalandhar : To ensure uninterrupted traffic flow and prevent inconvenience during the upcoming monsoon season at Dhogri Road, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal has directed the water Supply & Sewerage Board, Public Works Department (PWD) to make Dhogri road motorable before rains.The directive aims to particularly facilitate local industries, which rely heavily on smooth connectivity.

Following these instructions, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Shayri Malhotra on Thursday visited the site and held detailed discussions with officials and industry representatives. She reassured the industrial units that the District Administration was committed to resolving their concerns, especially related to traffic movement during the rainy season.

The SDM further informed that the Deputy Commissioner has emphasized making Dhogri road fully motorable before the onset of monsoon. This road was dug for a water supply pipeline under surface water project which is now under construction after laying of this pipeline.

She also noted that the DC has instructed concerned departments to speed up the pace of this project so that Dhogri road can be made operational before rains.

Further, the District Administrative has also asked the officials to initiate the process of laying bitumen at alternative canal road which is widely used by people.

The SDM further assured industry stakeholders that the Dhogri road will be made motorable on priority before the monsoon begins, in line with the Deputy Commissioner’s directives.
