Burglars Strike Just 200 Metres from MLA’s Residence in Kaila Village
A case of theft has been reported from Kaila village, the native village of Dharamkot MLA Davinderjit Singh Ladi Dhose. During the intervening night, unidentified burglars allegedly targeted a welding workshop in the village and fled with equipment and materials worth around ₹1 lakh. The incident has drawn attention as the workshop is located barely 200 metres from the MLA’s private residence. Despite its proximity, the accused reportedly carried out the theft without fear of the police or the administration. Sharing details of the incident, workshop owner Gurmeet Singh said he discovered the theft when he arrived at his shop on Wednesday morning to begin his routine work. He was shocked to find that valuable equipment and materials had been stolen from the premises. According to Gurmeet Singh, the stolen items include one welding set, four drilling machines, one cutter, two grinders, along with steel and iron kept inside the workshop. He estimated the total value of the stolen property at approximately ₹1 lakh, adding that the theft has caused him significant financial loss. The victim has submitted a written complaint to the Dharamkot police regarding the incident. Following the complaint, police visited the spot, inspected the scene, and have initiated an investigation into the matter. Efforts are underway to identify the accused and recover the stolen property.
