On the third day of the escalating conflict between Israel, the United States, and Iran, Iranian forces carried out a drone strike on the British Royal Air Force (RAF) base at Akrotiri in Cyprus. According to the UK Ministry of Defence, the attack, which occurred late Sunday night, caused minor damage to the base, but no casualties were reported. The incident comes after British Prime Minister Keir Starmer authorized the use of the Cyprus base by the United States for potential strikes on Iranian missile sites. Following this approval, Iran launched the drone attack as a retaliatory measure. British forces are now responding to the incident in coordination with their security protocols. In a related escalation, Iran targeted six American military bases across four Middle Eastern countries on Monday. Several U.S. fighter jets stationed in Kuwait were destroyed after crashing, although there were no reported fatalities. Iran’s top security official, Ali Larijani, emphasized that the country will not engage in negotiations with the United States at this stage, dismissing rumors that Tehran might resume dialogue. The strike on RAF Akrotiri highlights the growing volatility in the region as global powers navigate the escalating tensions between Iran, Israel, and the U.S.
