COVID-19 Claims Another Life in Delhi, Public Anxiety Rises

New Delhi : Delhi has reported another death linked to COVID-19, reigniting public concern despite a declining number of active cases. A 65-year-old man suffering from oral cancer and kidney-related ailments succumbed to the virus, marking the 13th COVID-related death in the capital.
While the city currently records 620 active cases, fatalities have persisted. On June 15, three deaths were reported in a single day, fueling fears of another potential surge.
Active Cases on a Downward Trend
The Health Department noted a gradual decline in active cases over the past three days. On Saturday, the count dropped to 672, and no new cases have been reported since. However, health authorities warn against complacency.
Health Department Urges Vigilance
The Delhi Health Department has reiterated its appeal to residents to remain cautious. Citizens are advised to:
- Wear masks in crowded places
- Maintain social distancing
- Practice regular hand hygiene
Officials emphasized that these measures remain crucial in preventing the further spread of the virus, particularly among the elderly and those with underlying health conditions.
