“AAP Has Failed Punjab,” Claims Sarabjeet Jhinjer, Urges Return of Akali Dal

Ludhiana (Punjab) :Youth Akali Dal President Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer has declared that the people of Punjab are fed up with the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) “false promises and deception” and are now rallying behind Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) to restore the state’s progress, stability, and pride.

While campaigning in support of Akali Dal candidate Parupkar Singh Ghumman from the Ludhiana West constituency, Jhinjer addressed a spirited election rally, stating:

“Good days are coming and our victory is certain. The love and trust we are receiving from Ludhiana’s people is a clear sign that the public wants to bring Akali Dal back for Punjab’s progress.”

He highlighted the massive public participation in a recent road show led by SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal, calling it “a symbol of people’s unwavering commitment to the party.” According to Jhinjer, Ludhiana—the heart of Punjab—has spoken clearly in favor of Akali Dal’s return.

Taking a direct jibe at AAP, Jhinjer questioned their unfulfilled promises:“Women were promised ₹1,100 per month—where is it after 40 months? The youth were promised 55,000 jobs—where are they?”

On the rising drug crisis, he accused the government of hypocrisy, saying:

“On one hand, they claim 99% of drugs are eliminated. On the other, even their ministers contradict this. Activists who speak up are silenced instead of being supported.”

He also criticized the increasing control of Punjab’s governance by outsiders from Delhi, calling it a betrayal of Punjab’s youth and talent.“Departments meant for Punjabis are being handed to rejected Delhi leaders.”

Jhinjer slammed the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government for being “all talk and no action,” stating:

“Farmers haven’t received an MSP guarantee, families haven’t been compensated, Punjab hasn’t been freed from drugs, and the youth are still unemployed.”

Reinforcing the momentum behind Akali Dal, he emphasized the huge turnout of women and youth at the rally as evidence that Punjab is ready to move forward with SAD at the helm.

In his address during the roadshow, Sukhbir Singh Badal called the AAP regime a “failure,” claiming Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is merely a puppet of AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal.

Senior Akali leaders including S. Daljit Singh Cheema, S. Sikander Singh Maluka, and S. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon also participated in the road show in support of Ghumman, declaring that Akali Dal is ready to restore dignity, progress, and stability in Punjab.
