Ludhiana West Sets Precedent with Mobile Phone Deposit System at Polling Stations

Ludhiana (Punjab) : In a first-of-its-kind initiative aimed at enhancing the voter experience and safeguarding the secrecy of the ballot, all polling stations in Ludhiana West have introduced secure mobile phone deposit arrangements for voters.

This pioneering move ensures that voters can participate in the democratic process without concerns over mobile phone usage within the polling premises, which is prohibited to maintain confidentiality and order.

The new system allows individuals to safely deposit their phones before casting their votes, adding a layer of convenience and security to the electoral process.

A total of 194 booths have been set up for polling. Apart from candidates of four main parties, AAP, BJP, Congress and Akali Dal, 10 other candidates are also in fray in this election.
