The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced a massive cash reward for the India national cricket team following their historic victory in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. The board declared on Tuesday that the team will receive a cash prize of ₹131 crore in recognition of their remarkable achievement. With this announcement, the BCCI has surpassed its own previous reward record. Earlier, when India won the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the board had announced a prize of ₹125 crore for the players. This time, after another significant triumph, the board has decided to award an even larger amount. India secured the title after defeating the New Zealand national cricket team in the final match on Sunday. The decisive clash took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where Team India delivered an impressive performance to clinch the trophy. With this victory, India continued its remarkable run in the tournament and became the first team in the history of the T20 World Cup to win the title in two consecutive editions.
