Five Killed After Speeding Truck Runs Over Bus Passengers in Uttar Pradesh's Etah

A tragic road accident occurred in Uttar Pradesh's Etah district at around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, claiming the lives of five people and leaving 12 others injured. According to reports, an out-of-control container truck ran over passengers of a state roadways bus that had stopped on the roadside after developing a mechanical fault. The roadways bus was travelling from Etah to Delhi with around 40 passengers on board. The accident took place in the Bagwala police station area, about 16 kilometres from the district headquarters. According to media reports, the bus had broken down and was parked along the roadside. Due to the heat, several passengers got off the bus and were standing outside. At that moment, a speeding container truck struck the passengers, crashed into the rear of the bus, and then moved to the opposite side of the road. The deceased have been identified as Satendra, Rajesh, Sukhram, Shailesh, and Prabhakar. All of them were residents of different districts. An injured passenger, Anand, said that after the bus developed a fault, several passengers stepped out and stood by the roadside. During that time, the out-of-control truck ran into them. Other passengers on the bus immediately informed the police about the incident. Police reached the scene and shifted all the victims to Etah Medical College, where doctors declared five people dead. The injured are receiving treatment. Following the incident, District Magistrate Arvind Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Elamaran visited the medical college, reviewed the situation, and directed officials to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured.
