Delhi Police Refuse Permission for Diljit Dosanjh’s October 30 Show at JLN Stadium

23 Oct, 2026 04:07 PM

Fans of Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh will have to wait longer to watch him perform live in the national capital after Delhi Police declined permission for his scheduled concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30.

The concert was planned as part of Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour. However, the event did not receive security clearance following a review of the organizers’ request by the police authorities.

According to a letter sent by the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Delhi) to ticketing platform BookMyShow, permission for the event was denied due to threat-related inputs, heightened security requirements during the festive season, and other law-and-order concerns.

The decision has come as a disappointment for fans who had been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to see the popular singer perform live in Delhi. The planned show was expected to be one of the major stops on his ongoing India tour.

Diljit Dosanjh has built a strong international presence through performances at some of the world's most renowned venues, including Madison Square Garden in New York and Wembley Stadium in London. He is also recognized as the first Punjabi artist to headline and sell out a show at Wembley Stadium.

Further details regarding the impact of the cancellation on the overall tour schedule are still awaited. There has been no immediate update on whether the Delhi concert will be rescheduled or shifted to another venue.

The development marks a significant change for fans who had been looking forward to the October 30 performance as part of the singer’s highly anticipated Aura India Tour.
