A 20-year-old entrepreneur from Ludhiana, Vanshika Mittal, has turned her passion for crocheting into a successful business, achieving a turnover of over ₹7 crore and securing investment through the popular show Shark Tank India. Vanshika, who learned crocheting from her grandmother, said she never imagined that her hobby would evolve into a profitable venture. Today, her business offers a wide range of handmade crochet products, including flowers such as roses and sunflowers, as well as decorative baskets and packaging boxes. Speaking about her journey, Vanshika shared that she participated in Shark Tank India, which aired across the country on March 17. During the show, she received an investment of ₹1 crore from the panel of investors, marking a significant milestone in her entrepreneurial journey. She described the achievement as a proud moment for her and her family and expressed her commitment to meeting expectations going forward. What started just two years ago has now grown into a large-scale enterprise. Vanshika has created employment opportunities for nearly 300 women, who are engaged in crocheting work. She ensures that each woman earns income on a per-piece basis, contributing to their financial independence. In terms of operations, Vanshika manages orders through her website and also fulfills deliveries via quick commerce channels, helping expand her market reach. Academically, she initially enrolled at Aurobindo but discontinued her studies after about one and a half years to focus on her business ambitions. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) through distance learning from Lovely Professional University. Her father, Nitin Mittal, is a chartered accountant, while her mother, Pooja Mittal, actively supports her in the business. Vanshika credits her grandmother, Uma Mittal, as the key inspiration behind her journey, as it was from her that she first learned crocheting—a skill that ultimately laid the foundation for her successful venture.
