Narendra Modi is currently on a visit to the Netherlands, where he addressed the Indian community in The Hague. Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said that May 16 holds special significance for him. He recalled that on this day in 2014, the results of the Lok Sabha elections were announced, paving the way for a stable government with a full majority in India after several decades. He stated that the trust and support of millions of Indians continue to motivate him in his work. According to the Prime Minister, the confidence shown by the people of India neither allows him to stop nor become tired. While interacting with members of the Indian diaspora in the Netherlands, PM Modi praised their contribution to Dutch society and the economy. He said every Indian feels proud of the achievements and role played by the Indian community in the Netherlands. The Prime Minister also thanked the government and people of the Netherlands for their support and hospitality. He conveyed greetings and best wishes from 1.4 billion Indians to the people of the country. Speaking about the present global situation, PM Modi said humanity is currently facing several major challenges. He remarked that the current decade has become a decade of crises, with the world dealing first with the coronavirus pandemic, followed by wars and now an energy crisis. He warned that if the situation does not improve, the progress made over the past several decades could be severely affected, and a large section of the global population could once again fall into poverty.
