25 Mar, 2026 05:10 PM

The Delhi Legislative Assembly received another bomb threat via email on Wednesday, triggering heightened security measures within the premises. The threat comes at a time when the Assembly session is underway and follows a similar warning issued just a day earlier, shortly before Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was scheduled to present the budget. According to sources, the latest email was sent early Wednesday morning to the official email ID of the Assembly Speaker. The message claimed that explosives had been planted inside the Assembly complex during the ongoing session. The sender also included several provocative remarks in the communication. This development comes after two separate threat emails were sent on Tuesday at 7:28 AM and 7:49 AM to Speaker Vijender Gupta. In response, security agencies have intensified their investigation and surveillance efforts. Bomb disposal squads, dog squads, and police teams have carried out a thorough search of the Assembly premises. Authorities have also strengthened security arrangements in and around the complex as a precautionary measure. Police officials stated that all threats are being treated with utmost seriousness. Cyber experts have been deployed to trace the origin of the emails through IP tracking and other technical investigations.
