Vigilante Justice in Ludhiana: Man Tied to Pole, Assaulted and Publicly Humiliated
A shocking incident of mob violence has come to light from the Noorwala Road area of Ludhiana, where a young man was allegedly subjected to brutal punishment by a group of people on suspicion of theft. The incident, described as inhumane, involved the youth being severely beaten, his head shaved, and then paraded through the locality. The disturbing episode gained widespread attention after a video of the incident surfaced on social media, triggering fear and anger among residents. According to information, locals claimed to have caught the youth while allegedly attempting theft. Reports suggest that rising incidents of theft in the area had already caused resentment among residents. Instead of informing the police, the crowd reportedly took the law into their own hands. The youth was tied to an electricity pole and assaulted. Following the assault, his head was shaved, and he was taken around the streets as onlookers watched the incident unfold. The entire episode was recorded by people present at the scene and later circulated publicly. Taking serious note of the matter, Ludhiana Police Commissioner Swapn Sharma ordered immediate action. Acting on his directions, the Jodhewal police station registered a case against those involved in the incident. Police officials have stated that no individual has the right to punish another person or violate the law under any circumstances. Authorities have further clarified that efforts are underway to identify all individuals involved in the incident. Strict legal action will be taken against them to ensure that such acts of vigilantism are not repeated in the future.
