Kharge Targets PM Modi at Barnala Rally, Calls Him “Surrender Modi

The Congress party’s “Save MNREGA Workers, Save Farmers” rally commenced in Barnala, drawing the presence of several senior leaders. National leader Rahul Gandhi is expected to arrive at the venue shortly. Addressing the gathering, Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira targeted the Aam Aadmi Party leadership, alleging that the state government is being controlled by outsiders. He specifically criticized Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over the issue. Speaking at the rally, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge made sharp remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that he has now become “Surrender Modi” in front of US President Donald Trump. Kharge alleged that Modi is pushing the country back toward an era of subjugation. He further asserted that only Rahul Gandhi has the strength to effectively fight against these challenges and described him as the sole strong leader capable of confronting the current situation. Former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi also addressed the rally. Meanwhile, leaders including Aruna Chaudhary and Member of Parliament Dharamvira Gandhi criticized the alleged weakening of the MNREGA law, terming it anti-labour and calling upon workers to take to the streets in protest. Several senior leaders were present on the मंच, including former minister Gurjeet Singh Rana, Bharat Bhushan Ashu, MPs Amar Singh and Gurjeet Singh Aujla, along with Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Pargat Singh, Anil Joshi, Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu, and Gurpreet Singh Kangar among others. Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, former Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa, Punjab in-charge Harish Chaudhary, Vijay Inder Singla, Jasbir Singh Dimpa, Sukh Sarkaria, and Gurkirat Singh Kotli were also present at the event. The rally witnessed strong criticism of both the central and state governments, with leaders emphasizing issues related to workers’ rights and farmers’ concerns.
