AAP Removes Raghav Chadha as Deputy Leader in Rajya Sabha
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has removed Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Raghav Chadha from the post of Deputy Leader in the Upper House. In addition to this, the party has also curtailed his speaking rights in the Rajya Sabha. According to official information, AAP has appointed Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal as the new Deputy Leader in place of Chadha. The party has formally communicated this decision to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat through an official letter. Sources indicate that AAP has also informed the Secretariat that Raghav Chadha should not be allotted time to speak in Parliament. This action comes at a time when Chadha had been actively raising various public issues in the Rajya Sabha. These included concerns such as the price of tea at airports, issues faced by delivery workers, paternity leave, tax burden on the middle class, and food adulteration. Sources further reveal that the party high command had earlier warned Chadha against speaking on issues without prior consultation. It is reported that he did not inform the party in advance about the topics he intended to raise in the Rajya Sabha. The decision is being viewed as part of an internal strategic shift within the Aam Aadmi Party, which may influence its functioning and representation in the Rajya Sabha going forward.
