Babain police launched a special late-night checking operation to curb drug abuse and prevent the illegal sale of narcotics in the area. The drive also involved the Anti-Narcotics Dog Squad, which assisted the police team in inspecting different locations.

The operation was conducted under the directions of District Superintendent of Police Chander Mohan and led by Babain police station in-charge Balbir Dutt.

During the drive, police personnel inspected deserted areas, vacant plots, abandoned structures and unoccupied houses as part of efforts to identify locations that could be used for illegal activities. The operation also prompted people in the area to take notice of the police presence, while some individuals who were reportedly under the influence of alcohol were seen running through narrow lanes.

Police Warn Against Drug Sales and Public Drinking

Police station in-charge Balbir Dutt warned people against engaging in illegal activities and made it clear that the illegal sale of narcotics and drinking alcohol in public places would not be tolerated.

He said the primary objective of the operation was to maintain law and order, prevent the illegal drug trade and ensure a safe and peaceful environment for residents.

Dutt also highlighted the harmful effects of alcohol and other intoxicating substances, stating that substance abuse can damage not only a person's physical health but also their financial well-being.

Strict Action Against Drug Trafficking

The police officer warned that anyone found involved in drug trafficking or other illegal activities would face strict legal action. He added that similar checking operations would continue in the area and that violations of the law would be dealt with firmly.

He also urged young people to stay away from drugs and focus on sports and other positive activities.

Police Seek Public Cooperation

Dutt appealed to residents to cooperate with the police in the campaign against drug abuse and the illegal narcotics trade.

He emphasised that collective efforts by the police and the public were essential to making the area safer and working towards a drug-free community.
