Rajwinder Kaur Assumes Office as Dera Baba Nanak Block Committee Chairperson

Rajwinder Kaur, the aunt of Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, formally assumed charge as the Chairperson of the Dera Baba Nanak Block Committee on Thursday. She had earlier won the block committee elections from Dera Baba Nanak. Soon after taking office, Rajwinder Kaur made several significant announcements aimed at social welfare. She stated that her family would arrange the marriages of 200 underprivileged girls and also provide them with essential household items. Highlighting her family’s previous efforts, she noted that they have already facilitated the marriages of 118 girls in the past. Additionally, she announced that any needy girl getting married in the Dera Baba Nanak constituency would receive a financial gift of ₹21,000 from her family. Apart from these welfare measures, Rajwinder Kaur also indicated potential political plans, stating that a member of her family may contest the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.
