PM Narendra Modi Offers Prayers at Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Waves Trident
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the revered Kashi Vishwanath Temple on Wednesday, where he performed rituals inside the sanctum sanctorum for approximately 20 minutes. The पूजा was conducted by five priests, who also adorned him with garlands and applied a tripund (sacred mark) on his forehead. After stepping out of the temple, BJP leaders presented the Prime Minister with a trident (trishul) and a damru. Modi subsequently held up the trident and waved it. The temple visit followed a 14-kilometre-long roadshow held earlier in the day. Upon his arrival at the temple gates, 108 monks welcomed him by blowing conch shells. During his visit inside the temple premises, the Prime Minister also interacted with children. Earlier, during the roadshow, BJP supporters were seen dancing to drum beats while greeting the Prime Minister at multiple points along the route. Flower petals were showered on his convoy as it passed through the city, although he did not stop at any location. Following his visit to Kashi, the Prime Minister departed for Hardoi, where he is scheduled to inaugurate the Ganga Expressway. The 594-kilometre-long expressway will connect Meerut to Prayagraj.
