Punjab: Car Falls into Pond After Losing Control, Three AAP Members Die

A tragic road accident took place late Thursday night near village Bassian on the Jagraon-Raikot Road, where a speeding car lost control and plunged into a deep pond. Three members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) were killed in the accident, while two others sustained injuries. According to reports, the AAP workers were returning to Dirdba late at night after attending an event in Nakodar. The accident occurred when their car was travelling along the Raikot Road near Bassian village, around 12 kilometres from Jagraon. The deceased have been identified as Balkar Singh, Vishal and Sandeep, who were associated with the Aam Aadmi Party. They were reportedly close to Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema. The accident reportedly occurred at around 1:15 a.m. when the speeding car suddenly went out of control and plunged into a pond situated along the roadside. The vehicle sank so quickly that the occupants did not get an opportunity to escape. After hearing the loud sound of the accident, nearby villagers and passersby rushed to the spot. With the assistance of police personnel and rescue teams, efforts were made to pull the people trapped inside the vehicle out of the pond. The rescue operation was carried out with considerable effort, and the occupants were eventually brought out of the vehicle. Three people lost their lives in the tragic accident, while two others were injured.
