Former Rajya Sabha MP and Senior Akali Leader Varinder Singh Bajwa Passes Away at 82

Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and former Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Varinder Singh Bajwa has passed away at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife, former Principal Jagjeet Bajwa, and three daughters. Family sources confirmed that his final rites will be performed on September 14 at 12:00 PM at Shivpuri, located on Haryana Road in Hoshiarpur. Following the news of his demise, Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal visited the bereaved family to express his deep condolences and share in their grief. He was accompanied by several senior party leaders, including Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Jarnail Singh Wahid, Surinder Singh Bhullewal Rathan, Jatinder Singh Lali Bajwa, and Sanjeev Talwar. Paying tribute to the departed leader, Sukhbir Singh Badal stated that the passing of Varinder Singh Bajwa represents an irreparable loss to the Shiromani Akali Dal. He highlighted Bajwa's dedicated service and longstanding contributions to both the party and public life.
