Next Hearing in Kangana Ranaut Defamation Case Scheduled for March 10
The hearing in the defamation case against Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut could not take place in Bhatinda court due to a strike by lawyers. Consequently, the next hearing has been scheduled for March 10, 2026. The case was filed by Bebe Mahinder Kaur, a resident of Bahadargarh Jandian village in Bhatinda, who alleged that Kangana Ranaut had posted defamatory content against her on social media. In the post, Kangana allegedly claimed that women like Bebe Mahinder Kaur charge Rs. 100 each to participate in protests. Following this, Bebe Mahinder Kaur initiated the defamation proceedings. Speaking to the media, Bebe Mahinder Kaur’s lawyer, Raghbir Singh Bahniwal, stated that two witnesses, including a prominent farmer leader, will be presented in the upcoming hearing. He expressed full confidence in the judiciary and emphasized that Bebe Mahinder Kaur and her family have been persistently pursuing justice. This case has significant connections with the farmers’ movement, highlighting the tensions around public statements on social media and the reputational impact on individuals involved in activism.
