Motorcycle-Borne Assailants Kill Retired Roadways Employee in Broad Daylight

In a shocking incident, a 65-year-old man was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne assailants in Gandiwind Dhattal village under the Chohla Sahib police station limits in Tarn Taran district on Sunday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Atma Singh, a resident of the village, who was working as a travel agent after retiring from Punjab Roadways. According to information shared by his relative Gurpreet Singh, the victim was inside his house when two unidentified individuals arrived on a motorcycle and called him outside. As soon as Atma Singh stepped out of his residence, the armed attackers opened fire on him. One of the bullets struck his forehead, which proved fatal. He was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team from Chohla Sahib police station reached the spot and initiated an investigation. The body has been sent to the Civil Hospital in Tarn Taran for post-mortem examination. The deceased is survived by his wife, one daughter, and two sons. The incident has created a sense of fear in the area, and police are working to trace the assailants.
