Punjab Police Crack Down on Narcotics Network, Investigation Underway

In a major breakthrough, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police have busted a cross-border drug trafficking module and arrested two accused with 4.13 kilograms of heroin in their possession. According to initial investigations, the arrested individuals were in direct contact with Europe-based handlers as well as operatives lodged in jail. These networks were actively involved in facilitating cross-border smuggling of narcotics and distributing consignments across the Majha and Doaba regions of Punjab. Police officials further revealed that both accused have prior criminal records under the NDPS Act and the Arms Act. An FIR has been registered at Sultanwind Police Station in Amritsar, and further investigations are underway to uncover the entire network involved in the trafficking operation. Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav confirmed the development and stated that the Punjab Police remains committed to dismantling drug networks and ensuring a drug-free Punjab.
