12 Jul, 2026 04:15 PM

The Chandigarh Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory ahead of the motorcycle march organised by the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Rajewal), which is scheduled to take place on Monday, July 13. The rally will travel from Mohali to Chandigarh as part of the farmers' protest over various demands. According to the advisory, traffic movement on several roads across the city will remain restricted from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm on July 13 to facilitate the smooth passage of the motorcycle march. The Traffic Police have urged commuters to avoid using the stretch from Sector 51/52 to the Sector 43 Bus Stand, as well as the road from the Sector 34/35/43/44 intersection to the Sector 21/22/34/35 intersection, wherever possible during the restricted hours. Similarly, traffic will remain limited on the route from the Sector 21/22/34/35 intersection to the Sector 20/21/33/34 intersection on Dakshin Marg, and from Kisan Bhawan to the Sector 20/30/32/33 intersection. Restrictions will also be in place on the roads connecting the Sector 20/21/33/34 intersection to the Sector 33/34/44/45 intersection, and further up to the Sector 44/45/50/51 intersection. The Chandigarh Traffic Police stated that heavy traffic congestion is expected along these routes due to the motorcycle march, which could inconvenience commuters. Citizens have therefore been advised to use alternate routes between 10:30 am and 3:00 pm to avoid delays and ensure a smoother journey.
