Gursharan Kaur Randhawa Questions Punjab Government Over Alleged Corruption Case

Gursharan Kaur Randhawa, president of the Patiala Rural District Congress, has criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government over an alleged corruption case involving ₹5 crore that has reportedly been linked to Dr Gurpreet Kaur. She has demanded an impartial investigation and called for all relevant facts to be made public.

Punjab Congress social media coordinator Yamini Verma, along with general secretaries Mandeep Chauhan and Lata Verma, was also present during the press conference.

Randhawa said that when serious allegations involving crores of rupees emerge, the facts surrounding the case should be clearly presented before the public. She stressed the need for transparency and a fair investigation into the matter.

Congress leaders also raised questions about the response to allegations involving a serious incident of sexual assault against a woman. They said that, as a woman, Dr Gurpreet Kaur, the Chief Minister’s wife, should have supported the alleged victim and raised her voice to help secure justice.

The Congress leaders further demanded an impartial and high-level inquiry into any alleged attempt to influence legal proceedings or bring the matter to a close through financial transactions, the use of official position or the exercise of influence.

Randhawa’s remarks came amid the party’s demand for clarity and accountability over the allegations. The claims remain allegations, and the demand for an investigation was raised by the Congress leaders at the press conference.
