Delhi Police Register FIR Against Arvind Kejriwal and AAP Leaders Over Ruckus at Gurdwara Bangla Sahib
Following a formal complaint by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), the Delhi Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal and several other party leaders over alleged ruckus and political disruption at Gurdwara Bangla Sahib. The incident occurred on Saturday when a large contingent of AAP protesters and supporters gathered at the Gurdwara Bangla Sahib complex while attempting to march towards Jantar Mantar to protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Police intervened to halt the march and subsequently detained several demonstrators, including Arvind Kejriwal. According to the complaint filed by the DSGMC, AAP workers entered the revered shrine's premises and initiated political demonstrations and slogan-shouting, causing widespread chaos and disrupting the sanctity of the holy site. The gurdwara body accused AAP leadership of attempting to misuse the sacred religious venue for political gain. Furthermore, the complaint alleged that AAP leaders circulated misleading videos on social media platforms that distorted the facts and falsely held the gurdwara management responsible for the disturbance. Delhi Police sources confirmed that an official investigation has been launched into the matter. Authorities are currently reviewing video footage submitted alongside the complaint to verify the claims, identify individuals involved, and determine the next course of legal action.
