Fake PCS Officer Case: Woman Allegedly Married AAP Leader by Posing as PCS Officer
In a case that has caused a stir in political circles, a woman allegedly posed as a Punjab Civil Service (PCS) officer and married Advocate Amarinder Singh Mandofal, chairman of the Market Committee Sirhind and an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader.
Following an investigation into the allegations, the district police have registered a case against the woman, identified as Manwinder Kaur, along with her brother, mother and three other people on charges of cheating and other related offences.
According to the complaint, Manwinder Kaur allegedly represented herself as a PCS officer before and at the time of her marriage to Mandofal. The wedding was attended by several senior AAP leaders and ministers, making the matter particularly significant in political circles.
Mandofal allegedly came to know after the marriage that the woman was not a PCS officer. He also allegedly learned that she had been married previously and had a son.
Alleging that important facts concerning the woman's identity and personal background had been concealed from him, Mandofal approached the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and submitted a complaint seeking legal action.
After examining the allegations, the district police registered a case under various sections related to cheating and other offences against Manwinder Kaur, her brother, mother and three others.
The case has drawn attention because of the alleged use of a false official identity and the involvement of a political leader whose wedding was attended by senior AAP leaders and ministers.
