Moga SHO Bribe Case: Inspector Sunita Rani’s Tone Changes at Second Court Appearance

The conduct of woman police inspector Sunita Rani appeared different during her second court appearance in connection with the bribery allegations against her. Unlike her first appearance, when she reportedly told the media that “all is well”, she remained silent during the latest proceedings.
Sunita Rani was brought before the Moga court by Vigilance officials on Tuesday. During the appearance, her face was covered and she was escorted into the courtroom in the manner normally seen when an accused is produced before a court.
Vigilance officials also appeared to keep her away from the media. She was taken into the court without allowing journalists to interact with her. Even after the court proceedings were completed, she reportedly remained inside the courtroom for about an hour.
When officials eventually brought her out and quickly escorted her towards the vehicle, journalists repeatedly questioned her about her earlier “all is well” remark. However, the inspector did not respond to the questions.
First Appearance Had Drawn Attention on Social Media
Sunita Rani’s conduct and comments during her first court appearance had attracted considerable attention on social media, with several videos of the episode circulating online. The videos also prompted strong reactions.
Against this backdrop, the Vigilance Bureau followed the legal procedure during her second appearance and took additional precautions while presenting her before the court.
According to information, the Vigilance Bureau is also examining Sunita Rani’s overall police service record as part of its ongoing proceedings. The investigation and legal process in the bribery case are continuing.
