Chandigarh Police Register FIR Against Manpreet Iyali and Others After Protest Near CM Residence

Chandigarh Police have registered an FIR against Manpreet Iyali and others following a protest march held by supporters of Akali Dal (Waris Punjab De) demanding the release of Member of Parliament Amritpal Singh and Bandi Sikhs. According to the information, the protest was organised a day earlier, during which supporters marched through Chandigarh and reached near the official residence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in Sector 2. Following the demonstration, Chandigarh Police initiated legal action in connection with the incident. The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) stated that an FIR has been registered under Section 173(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for the alleged violation of Section 163. The case has also been registered against unidentified individuals involved in the protest. Police officials said they are currently examining video footage from the protest to identify the individuals who participated in the march. The investigation is ongoing, and further action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
