The investigation into the murder of Parvinder Singh Jhota has gained momentum, with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registering a First Information Report (FIR) in Chandigarh and beginning its inquiry in Mansa.
A three-member CBI team arrived in Mansa late Tuesday night. On Wednesday morning, the investigators visited Jhota’s residence and met his family members to gather information and establish facts related to the case.
CBI Team Meets Family Members
According to information received, the CBI team questioned members of Jhota’s family and collected details relevant to the murder investigation.
A CBI official confirmed that an FIR had been registered in Chandigarh. The three-member team has begun examining the case as part of the agency’s investigation.
The next stages of the inquiry are expected to focus on the circumstances surrounding the murder and other relevant aspects of the case. The investigation will determine whether further facts emerge as the inquiry progresses.
Family Had Sought CBI Investigation
Jhota’s family and the Justice Committee had repeatedly demanded a CBI probe into the murder. Their demand gained renewed attention following Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Mansa on Tuesday.
During his visit, Shah assured the family that the case would be investigated thoroughly. The arrival of the CBI team and the registration of the FIR have now marked the beginning of the agency’s investigation.
Focus on Further Investigation
The CBI’s inquiry is being viewed as an important step towards addressing the family’s demand for justice. Attention is now focused on the evidence and facts the agency gathers and the direction in which the investigation proceeds.
The headline information also indicates that the agency is preparing to seek remand of the main accused, Ashwani Kumar. Further action will depend on the progress of the investigation and the relevant legal procedures.
