Father-Son Duo Among Victims of Toxic Gas Incident at RK Road Factory

A tragic industrial accident claimed the lives of three people, including a father and his son, after a toxic gas leak occurred at a factory located on RK Road in Ludhiana on Monday. Several other workers were also affected by the gas, with two reported to be in critical condition. According to information available, work was proceeding as usual inside the factory when gas suddenly began leaking from a pipeline or cylinder. Within moments, the toxic fumes spread throughout the premises, creating panic among workers. The gas reportedly had an immediate and severe impact, leaving employees with little or no time to react or evacuate. Several workers experienced breathing difficulties and irritation in their eyes before collapsing unconscious at the site. Three individuals died on the spot due to suffocation caused by exposure to the toxic gas. The deceased have been identified as Mana and his son Amit. The identity of the third victim is yet to be confirmed. Reports indicate that the father and son were loading waste material discharged from the lower section of a machine into a trolley when they came into direct contact with the hazardous gas. Upon receiving information about the incident, teams from the Moti Nagar Police Station and various administrative departments rushed to the factory. Rescue and relief operations were immediately launched, and ambulances were dispatched to the scene. Police have taken the bodies into custody and sent them to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination. Preliminary findings suggest that the accident was caused by a gas leak. However, authorities are also examining whether adequate safety measures and protocols were being followed inside the factory. Moti Nagar SHO Inspector Bhupinder Singh stated that a thorough investigation is underway. He added that appropriate legal action will be taken if any negligence is found during the inquiry.
