House Locked for 15 Days Targeted by Thieves in Mohali, Valuables Stolen

A major burglary has been reported at a sessions judge’s residence in Sector-94, Mohali, where unidentified thieves looted valuables after breaking into the house that had remained locked for 15 days. According to the complaint, the occupants had left the house on March 5, 2026, locking it before travelling to Moga for official duty. The complainant, who is posted with Punjab Police and is on duty with a sessions judge in Moga, returned home with family members around 8:30 pm on March 20. Upon arrival, they found the main gate lock broken. Inside the house, all rooms were found ransacked. Cupboards were open, belongings were scattered across rooms, and all lights were switched on. Preliminary investigation revealed that the intruders had forcefully opened the rear door to gain entry and then systematically searched the entire house. The thieves reportedly stole several valuables, including a brass idol of Lord Krishna and brass utensils from the kitchen. They also removed taps and fittings from the bathroom, indicating a thorough and deliberate act of theft. Police have registered a case against unknown persons and initiated an investigation. Officials are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the suspects. Efforts are underway to analyse recorded movements and trace those involved in the crime. The search for the accused is currently ongoing.
