Punjab Government Launches 24-Hour Helpline for Punjabis Stranded in Arab Countries
The Punjab government has set up a 24-hour helpline and control room to assist Punjabis stranded in Arab countries due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced the initiative, highlighting the urgent need to support citizens facing difficulties abroad. In a social media post, CM Mann stated that numerous Punjabis are currently facing hardships in Gulf nations due to escalating tensions and hostilities. He announced that the helpline numbers, managed by the NRI Wing, are now active for any Punjabi or their family member who may be stuck in these countries. The helpline aims to provide immediate guidance and assistance for safe evacuation or support in emergency situations. CM Mann assured that the Punjab government is coordinating closely with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian central government to ensure the safe return of affected citizens. He emphasized that the government is committed to providing full support to youth and students currently facing challenging conditions in the Gulf region.
