There is important news for rail passengers in Punjab. Northern Railway has revised the timings of seven trains associated with Punjab. The changes have been made following the introduction of a new express train operating between Chheharta in Amritsar and Varanasi (Seer Govardhanpur). According to information issued by the railway authorities, the new 14624/14623 Chheharta-Varanasi-Chheharta Seer Govardhanpur Express is being introduced. To adjust the timetable for the new service, the timings of trains operating on different routes connected to Punjab have been revised. Railway officials said the revised timetable will remain in effect from August 31, 2026, through November 2026. The revised timings of the trains are as follows: CSMT-Amritsar Express (11057): From September 2, 2026, the train will reach Amritsar 35 minutes later than its earlier scheduled time. Its arrival time has been changed from 4:15 pm to 4:50 pm. Purnia Court-Amritsar Express (14617): From September 2, the train will arrive at Amritsar at 5:05 pm, instead of the earlier scheduled time of 4:55 pm. Kolkata-Amritsar Durgiana Express (12357): From September 1, 2026, its timing will be revised by 15 minutes. The train will now reach Amritsar at 5:35 pm, compared with the previous timing of 5:20 pm. Jaynagar-Amritsar Shaheed Express (14673): From November 2, 2026, its Amritsar arrival time will be changed from 5:50 pm to 6:05 pm. However, the train will continue to depart from Lucknow according to its scheduled departure time. Jaynagar-Amritsar Saryu Yamuna Express (14649): From November 1, 2026, the train's schedule will be revised. Due to changes in the timetable between the originating stations and Lucknow, it will now reach Amritsar at 6:05 pm, instead of the earlier 5:50 pm. The railway has advised passengers to check the latest timing of their train before travelling. This will help them avoid inconvenience caused by the revised schedule.
