Despite the escalating protest, the Punjab government has yet to issue a formal invitation for talks to the employee union representatives. While several cabinet ministers have publicly stated that channels for discussion remain open, no official dialogue has commenced. Meanwhile, striking employee unions maintain that they remain open to negotiations and are awaiting a formal summons from the government to resolve the standoff. The friction between the state government and its workforce has heightened following punitive administrative actions against key union leadership.
