PM Modi Takes Barbed Swipe at Rahul Gandhi’s Campaign, Warning Youth Against "Jhooth Ki Goonj"

During a visit to his home state of Gujarat to inaugurate and dedicate multiple development projects, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a sharp swipe at Rahul Gandhi’s ongoing "Chhatron Ki Goonj" outreach series. Addressing a public rally in Vadodara, PM Modi cautioned the country's youth to remain vigilant against what he described as "Jhooth Ki Goonj" (echo of lies). Making an entry onto the stage to the background beats of the hit song "Aari Aari," the Prime Minister highlighted the significant growth in Indian Railways' freight capacity under the BJP-led NDA administration compared to the previous Congress-led UPA rule. During his speech, PM Modi reiterated his "angry uncle" (naraaz foofa) jibe to criticize Opposition rhetoric surrounding infrastructure expansion. "Now the angry uncle will have something new to lament about," PM Modi remarked, referring to potential Opposition critiques regarding rail freight expansion. "They will ask, 'Where will the truck drivers go? What will happen to the truck owners?'" In his address, the Prime Minister also made a veiled reference to a website named "Jhooth Ki Goonj," which reportedly fact-checked 40 speeches delivered by Rahul Gandhi during his student outreach campaign, characterizing many of those claims as misleading. Emphasizing the resilience of truth over political propaganda, PM Modi told the gathering, "The power of truth will defeat the echo of lies. Young people must remain careful about the falsehoods being spread." He further noted that the government is actively making progress on a recently launched initiative aimed at helping students prepare for entrance examinations under the guidance of India's top teaching talent.
