The Civil Surgeon stressed that awareness initiatives must be intensified in areas with low gender ratios, promoting equality between daughters and sons. He further highlighted the need for strict enforcement of the PCPNDT Act to prevent illegal practices such as female foeticide. According to him, improving the gender ratio is a shared responsibility of society as a whole. Dr. Tapinderjot also urged maximum public awareness regarding major health initiatives, including the Chief Minister Health Scheme and the HPV vaccine, to ensure that citizens can fully benefit from these programs.
