From Punjab's Pandori Khas to New Zealand's Police Force: Ramandeep Kaur's inspiring journey

Auckland (New Zealand) : Ramandeep Kaur, hailing from the modest village of Pandori Khas in Punjab's Nakodar tehsil, has achieved a significant milestone by joining the New Zealand Police.
Her journey from a small Indian village to serving as a police officer in Auckland stands as a testament to determination and resilience. After completing her degree in Biotechnology from City Group of Institutes in Jalandhar, Ramandeep moved to New Zealand in 2014 to pursue further studies in Business in Health Care.
She initially worked in the healthcare sector and later served as a Senior Corrections Officer in the prison department.Her experiences there inspired her to address crime prevention more proactively, leading her to pursue a career in policing.
In 2023, Ramandeep embarked on a new path, enrolling in a seven-month training program at the Police Training College in Wellington.
Upon completion, she officially joined the New Zealand Police on May 22, 2025, and has begun her assignment at the Ormiston Police Station in Auckland.Ramandeep expressed her desire to make her parents,Davinder Singh and Gurvinder Kaur, proud through her service to the community.
She aims to be a role model, especially for women, demonstrating that with determination and support, one can achieve their dreams and contribute meaningfully to society.
Her story stands as an inspiration to many, highlighting the impact of perseverance, community service, and the pursuit of one's aspirations.
