Schools in Chandigarh and Mohali Receive Bomb Threat; Security Agencies Launch Investigation

Several schools in Chandigarh and Mohali have received a threatening email claiming that bomb blasts will take place at multiple locations on July 17, prompting security agencies and the police to remain on high alert. The threat comes just ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit to Chandigarh and Punjab. According to the email, explosions are allegedly planned at various locations in Chandigarh and Mohali on July 17. Following the message, security agencies have intensified vigilance, and the matter is being treated with utmost seriousness. The email, sent to multiple schools in Chandigarh and Mohali, claims that IED (Improvised Explosive Device) blasts will be carried out at local schools, the Mohali Mayor's Office, and the Jalandhar and Chandigarh railway stations. The sender further claimed that the schools would be targeted at 1:11 p.m., while the Mohali Mayor's Office would be attacked at 3:11 p.m. on July 17. Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Chandigarh, Punjab, and Haryana on the same day to inaugurate and announce various development projects. In view of the threat, security agencies and police have been placed on high alert, and the investigation into the threatening email is underway.
