Schools in Chandigarh and Mohali Receive Bomb Threat; Security Agencies Launch Investigation

The email, sent to multiple schools in Chandigarh and Mohali, claims that IED (Improvised Explosive Device) blasts will be carried out at local schools, the Mohali Mayor's Office, and the Jalandhar and Chandigarh railway stations. The sender further claimed that the schools would be targeted at 1:11 p.m., while the Mohali Mayor's Office would be attacked at 3:11 p.m. on July 17. Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Chandigarh, Punjab, and Haryana on the same day to inaugurate and announce various development projects. In view of the threat, security agencies and police have been placed on high alert, and the investigation into the threatening email is underway.
