Iran attempted a late comeback, but the Indian side maintained its composure under pressure to seal victory by a margin of three points.
The win ensured that India regained the women’s kabaddi gold medal at the Asian Games and added another major achievement to the country’s campaign at the continental event.
India had entered the final after an impressive run in the tournament. In the semifinal, the Indian team defeated Nepal 48-24, taking a commanding 31-17 lead in the first half before maintaining its dominance throughout the remainder of the contest.
