Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday emphasized the need for the organization to enhance its presence on social media platforms, noting their widespread use among the public. Speaking at an event in Nagpur, Bhagwat said that while social media is extensively used by people, it should also be utilized for constructive and positive purposes. He added that the RSS must increase its activity on such platforms to effectively communicate its work. Bhagwat observed that content such as memes and reels is already popular, and some material is being shared through the RSS communication wing. He noted that volunteers are also using social media, and this trend is expected to be accepted and expanded further. However, he clarified that rather than being an expectation, increasing activity on these platforms is a necessity. Highlighting the broader role of the organization, Bhagwat said that both mobilizing people and bringing about social change are essential. He stated that a committed volunteer takes up constructive initiatives, which gradually spread within society and contribute to meaningful transformation. The RSS chief further pointed out that rising public expectations have led to increased demand for volunteers across various sectors. To ensure efficiency, he said smaller operational units are becoming necessary. He also underlined the need for periodic dialogue with the government and administration to support the organization’s expanding activities. For this purpose, a dedicated coordination mechanism is being developed, including the establishment of a state-level unit to manage coordination and address challenges effectively.
