Traffic Restrictions During CM Mann’s ‘Shukrana Yatra’ Blamed for Miscarriage Delay

A resident of Mehta has alleged that traffic restrictions imposed during Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s “Shukrana Yatra” delayed his pregnant wife’s arrival at a hospital, resulting in a miscarriage on Thursday. The allegations were made by Jugraj Singh of Mehta through a video shared on social media. According to him, the incident took place during the Chief Minister’s visit to Amritsar. Jugraj Singh claimed that his wife suddenly experienced severe pain, following which he immediately rushed her toward Guru Amar Das Hospital in his private vehicle. He alleged that several roads had been closed by the police and traffic had been diverted due to the Chief Minister’s “Shukrana Yatra.”

According to his statement, the diversions and restrictions caused an additional delay of nearly 40 to 50 minutes in reaching the hospital. Jugraj Singh further claimed that his wife remained in extreme pain inside the vehicle during the delay. Upon reaching the hospital, doctors allegedly informed the family that the unborn child had died. The allegations shared in the social media video have triggered widespread reactions online. Several individuals, including Bholath MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira, questioned Chief Minister Mann’s claims of being connected to the “common man” in light of the reported incident. No official statement regarding the allegations had been reported at the time of publication.
