Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Unveils ‘Meri Rasoi’ Food Kit Initiative

The Punjab government has announced the launch of the ‘Meri Rasoi’ scheme aimed at supporting economically weaker sections of the state. The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Addressing the media after the meeting, the Chief Minister stated that around 40 lakh families in the state will benefit from the initiative. Under the scheme, the government will distribute specially prepared food kits to blue card holders. The food kit will include wheat, 2 kilograms of urad-chana dal, 2 kilograms of sugar, 1 kilogram of iodized salt, 200 grams of turmeric powder, and one litre of mustard oil. The initiative is intended to ensure access to essential food items and reduce the financial burden on needy households. During the briefing, the Chief Minister also announced the upcoming budget session of the state. He informed that the budget session will commence on March 6 and will continue until March 16.
