Punjab Leaders Pay Last Respects to Khushbaz Singh Jatana After Fatal Road Accident

Congress leader and Talwandi Sabo Assembly constituency in-charge Khushbaz Singh Jatana was cremated in Bathinda on Friday. He had died in a road accident near Panipat a few days ago. Several senior political leaders attended the last rites and paid their respects, including Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, MLA Pargat Singh, Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon, and Vijay Inder Singla. A large number of party workers and leaders from different parts of Punjab also gathered to bid farewell. During the occasion, Raja Warring called for a high-level investigation into the accident, stating that the incident raises serious concerns as it occurred on the roadside. He said that Jatana’s stationary vehicle was hit by a speeding truck and questioned how such a collision could happen in broad daylight. He added that the truth would emerge once the truck driver is arrested. MLA Pargat Singh also expressed concern, stating that the incident has left several unanswered questions and requires a thorough inquiry. Former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi extended condolences and said that the entire Congress party stands with Jatana’s family during this difficult time. According to available information, the accident took place around 6:15 pm when Jatana had stopped his vehicle on the roadside due to a punctured tyre and was getting it repaired. During this time, a speeding truck rammed into the stationary car, leading to his fatal injuries. Khushbaz Singh Jatana was an active member of the Congress party. He had served as the former president of Punjab Congress (Bathinda Rural) and was also the former vice-president of Youth Congress from the Talwandi Sabo constituency. He had contested the 2022 Assembly elections from Talwandi Sabo but was unsuccessful.
