Over 150 Students Receive Degrees at CU’s Online Program Convocation

Mohali (Punjab) : Chandigarh University organised 6th Annual Convocation for Online students in which 150 UG and PG students were awarded with degrees. The students who were conferred with the degrees were enrolled in UG and PG programs at Chandigarh University Online department.

The students awarded with degrees were enrolled in various online degree programs including MBA, MCA, MA-JMC, MA-English, MA-Psychology, MA-Economics, M.Sc. Mathematics, BBA, BCA, and BA-JMC for undergraduate (UG) batch January 2022 and postgraduate batch January 2023 received the degrees at the convocation ceremony.

On this occasion, Dr. Rishi Mohan Bhatnagar, Co-founder and Managing Director India & Global CTO – AA2IT India Pvt Ltd., graced the Convocation as the Chief Guest.

Along with the chief guest, the dignitaries present on the occasion included Prof (Dr) Manpreet Singh Manna, Vice Chancellor, Chandigarh University, Prof (Dr) Devinder Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Anurag Verma, Executive Director, Chandigarh University and Dr Gurpreet Singh, Director, Chandigarh University Online. 

While speaking on the occasion, Dr Rishi Mohan Bhatnagar “emphasised the important role of innovation and research in achieving a “Viksit Bharat by 2047” and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

“Viksit Bharat @2047 is not just an initiative of a government, but a mission for the whole country. Our students will play an important role in realizing this vision. For this, we should include innovation in every field from education to entrepreneurship. Our research-based education will promote real social change,”.

Praising online education, Dr Bhatnagar said, “Due to online education, education has reached every home and the gap between geography and opportunities has been eliminated. Along with learning, we should also contribute to the development of the nation,” he added.

Dr Bhatnagar further said, “It’s is a matter of pride that about 15,000 students from 28 States, 8 Union Territories and many countries are getting online education at the Chandigarh University and more than 60,000 students are getting offline education at the Chandigarh University campus at Gharuan. It is a symbol of India's progress and the excellence of Chandigarh University,” he said.

Congratulating the faculty, students and staff during the Convocation, Dr Bhatnagar said, “Here I have seen a disciplined, hardworking, smart working and united team which is doing excellent work under the visionary leadership of Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Chancellor of Chandigarh University, Satnam Singh Sandhu.”.

Since its inception in 2021, Chandigarh University Online, a UGC-recognized and NAAC A+ accredited institution which has started admissions for its 2025 academic session, has become the most sought-after destination to pursue higher education in the country and abroad.
