Man Out on Bail in Sacrilege Case Found Murdered; Police Launch Investigation

A man was murdered in a shocking incident in Punjab's Fatehgarh Sahib district, prompting a police investigation. According to the information available, an attacker allegedly entered the victim's house around midnight and attacked him with a kirpan, killing him before fleeing the scene. The incident took place on Monday night, and the deceased has been identified as Mewa Singh. Preliminary reports indicate that the victim sustained fatal injuries in the attack. Following the murder, it emerged that Mewa Singh was an accused in a sacrilege case related to a gurdwara in Ladpur Turan village near Mandi Gobindgarh. He had been out on bail for the past seven months. A case against him had been registered at the Mandi Gobindgarh Police Station, and the matter is currently pending before the court. After receiving information about the incident, police officials reached the spot, took possession of the body, and initiated further legal proceedings. A forensic team also visited the crime scene to collect evidence as part of the investigation. Police said efforts are underway to identify the attacker and determine the motive behind the killing.
